Tourism industry welcomes new Minister

Harvey named new tourism minister | Business News:

Liza Harvey will become Western Australia's new tourism minister, replacing Kim Hames who was forced to give up the portfolio after admitting an expenses bungle. Ms Harvey will add the tourism job to her current role as police minister.
"Liza has a well-demonstrated enthusiasm for Western Australia and its fantastic tourism potential," Premier Colin Barnett said. "As Member for Scarborough - one of Perth's most popular tourism destinations - I know she is already well aware of many of the issues in the tourism portfolio."
Mr Hames remains deputy premier and health minister but had to step down from his tourism portfolio last month after admitting to claiming more than $1000 for accommodation expenses he was not entitled to.
Outspoken minister Joe Francis has also picked up a portfolio, adding Small Business to his existing portfolios of Corrective Services, Emergency Services, and Veterans. The new ministers will be sworn in by Governor Malcolm McCusker on Monday.
